Grand Manan
Named for the island in the Bay of Fundy where boats of this type are still used to harvest the sea plant known as dulse, the Grand Manan dory has a modified transom that allows these boats to be powered by a long-shaft outboard hung directly from the stern, all while still retaining the general shape and characteristics of a double-ended boat. A broad stern seat/locker provides comfort and storage.
