Hooray for launch day!
A slug of Black Rum as part of our pre-launch Dory Shop initiation ceremony wasn't ill-placed this morning as a sharp northwesterly wind cut across Lunenburg harbour.
Still the guys from our fall dory building course proudly grinned and bore the cold as they placed the product of all their work these past two weeks into the water, then took her out for a short row.
While damp weather prevented getting a coat of paint on the gunwales (we can do that later!), the dory looks great and was described as very responsive. She will be heading to a new home in Bayport, Nova Scotia next week.
Once again Jay and I are amazed at our good fortune to have had such fine folks join us here at The Dory Shop. Gordon, Jeff, Neil and Gaston, we really enjoyed meeting you all! Safe travels to everyone!
