A Classic schooner weekend

We at The Dory Shop were once again delighted to host members of the Nova Scotia Schooner Association during their September Classic event last weekend. A gorgeous autumn afternoon of sailing - albiet in light winds - was capped off with a roast pig feast, beverages and music in the boatyard Saturday night.

Especially nice this year was the addition of visiting ships Pride of Baltimore II, Mist of Avalon, and Virginia, all of whom ducked in on their journeys home from the Around the Island Race out of Summerside, PEI. All three vessels were convinced to participate in the Classic. Pride, shown above with her stuns'ls set, took second place.
