Handline dory wins prize

We're really excited to tell everyone that one of The Dory Shop's traditional Handline dories won honourable mention in the Manually Powered, Professionally Built class at The WoodenBoat Show, recently held at Mystic, CT.

We really enjoyed attending the show, which is held at the fascinating Mystic Seaport: Museum of America and the Sea. The event was chock-a-block with the most beautiful wooden boats and thousands of people who love and adore them, i.e. our kind of people!

It was a particular thrill to meet the gentleman for whom the big Seine sailing dory was built. We'll be shipping it to you soon Chip! And also Leon, who has restored dozens of boats over the years, including a couple of our Banks dories. And Robert, who has one of our skiffs.

While Dory Plug was in the States, Jay has been working on a Handline sailing dory. Still, we thought we'd take a picture of him with his award (above).
