Farewell dory class!
What a pleasure it’s once again been to host our dory building class. I don’t know how we get so lucky as to attract such a fine bunch of guys, but they truly made the last couple of weeks a lot of fun. And they built a fine 13-foot bottom Handline dory to boot!
The spring class wrapped up Friday but knowing that Dale had to leave a day early, we held our little initiation ceremony on Thursday afternoon. Friday was spent outdoors, painting in the sunshine.
Friday also saw a small film crew visit The Dory Shop for a new Atlantic Canada tourism website. The on-camera talent asked Herb why he came all the way to Lunenburg to learn to build a dory. His answer: “when you want to build a dory, you have to come to Mecca and for dories, that’s Lunenburg!”
Thanks again guys!
