Prams inside and out

It must be the fact we've been having the finest summer weather in years - yes, that's what I'll blame it on! - but I realize I haven't been posting as much as I should.

It's not like Jay hasn't been busy. In spite of the heat and sun and optimum sailing conditions designed to lure him away from the shop, he's been hard at it, getting boats ready for boat shows, rigging out a new Handline sailing dory to be picked up by her new owners next month, and now building another of these lovely nutshell prams.

Ironically, an earlier pram that he built for the schooner Kitty Cochrane, is currently pulled up on the shore just outside the shop as Jay works on this new one inside.

A reminder to everyone that if you are in the Halifax area this weekend (July 23-25), you should visit The Dory Shop and a dozen other Nova Scotia boatbuilding enterprises as we display our best at the Nova Scotia In-Water Boat Show at Bishop's Landing on the Halifax Waterfront.

This year's event includes a seminar series aimed at sail and motor boaters and even a Helly Hansen fashion show. It should be a great show!
